[PERSONALITY & HISTORY]

PERSONALITY: Dodger is what you could call a charming scoundrel. At core, he is really good-for-nothing, always out for himself, and fits in quite well with the vagabonds and thieves of the world. On the other hand, he's lived the (mostly) charmed life of a man with a great deal of charisma; he has a certain... something about him that just draws people to him. Certainly, he has a dramatic side, and if he can do something in a big way, then that's how he'll do it.

He has a very forceful personality, always has something witty to add (and occasionally even something useful), and often enjoys being the center of attention. Unless he's working, that is. In which case, he has learned to blend.

As mentioned, there is just something about Dodger that draws people to him, and this too makes him a natural leader. Not in the sense of the big head honcho guy, but more of a second in command. For that role, he is ideal. He's also great for recruitment (ex: ...Oliver).

WEAKNESSES: Aimless if left to his own devices. Kleptomaniac (this is especially bothersome if you really need to staple something). Tends to spend all of his money as soon as he makes it. Can be a huge pain in the ass if you want to have a serious conversation. Completely and totally lacking any sort of loyalty whatsoever.
SECRETS: According to Dodger, he has no past, so none.
HOBBIES: Stealing things. Card tricks, including making card castles.

HISTORY: Jack Dawkins was born the first child to Mary and Christopher Dawkins 31 years ago in London. His early life was, quite frankly, shit. His father didn't have a job and his mother wasn't skilled enough at anything to make much money, and what money they did make his father spent on booze. Wisely, Dodger got the hell out of there by the time he was nine.

A few years later found him the head of a pack of pickpocket children, led by a man called Fagin. He spent some time with them, honing his skills and learning how to live on the streets. In fact, Dodger (as he was by then named "The Artful Dodger", in homage to his abilities) flourished in these conditions, despite his constant and serious need for a bath.

However, as all good things must come to an end, Dodger's wonderful life with Fagin's gang ended abruptly when he was apprehended after a botched job; he maintains that this was due to an error on the part of the boy working with him. Not that anyone cares, but it wasn't his fault (or so he claims). Because of this, he was sent off to jail [updated from the book, where he was sent to Australia]... which he left as abruptly as he entered, a year or so later.

He spent a few years on the run, after that, and finally ended up making the crossing to America, where hopefully they'll stop looking for him. He figures they've got better things to do than search for a thief overseas.

Since then, he's lived the dream, joining several gangs and getting into progressively deeper and deeper shit. But somehow, he's always managed to get back out of it. Which is probably what got him noticed for this new job...

[APPEARANCE]

APPEARANCE: Dodger is slightly tall, at 5'11", and about average, a little on the lean side. He hardly stands out in a crowd, which is a good thing, except when he smiles. His smile, which he will display often, is probably his best feature. It softens his entire face, and is quite frankly adorable. Pure Dodger perfection.

His eyes and hair are a rather unremarkable brown, and he tends to keep his hair shorter more often than not. Left longer, it becomes completely unruly, which is a bit too identifying for him. He never dresses up; you can put him in a suit, but somehow he just won't look professional no matter what you do.

He always wears his sleeves short or rolled up. Helps with the business.

[SPECIALTIES]

SPECIAL ABILITIES: None, really, aside from amazing pickpocketing.
WEAKNESSES: He's a kleptomaniac. Aside from that, he's only human.
WEAPONS: Knives, guns, staplers, chairs, whatever he can pick up. He's pretty good at improvisation, but he'd prefer to have a standard weapon on him if there's going to be fighting. Is there going to be fighting? Did he sign up for this?
SKILLS: He has this crazy knack for getting out of scrapes unscathed. He is also unparalleled when it comes to sleight of hand.
OTHER: He steals bullets. One at a time. Also, staples. And buttons, preferably off of people's clothes. While they're wearing them. Smokes like a chimney.
